Divorce mediation is about negotiating a financial settlement. It ensures that both parties understand the marital finances and reach agreement on how the marital assets and debts will be divided. Child arrangements can also be included in the discussions if necessary.

Consent Order
A divorce application in itself does not deal with how the assets and debts of a marriage are going to be split between you. Divorce deals with the dissolution of the marriage but does not deal with the financial settlement or break your financial ties to each other.
To achieve that financial severance, you need to obtain a financial 'consent order'. You cannot make an application to the court for the financial consent order until you have the first part of your divorce - now called the 'Conditional Order' (used to be called 'Decree Nisi').

Applying For Divorce
Option 1: Go online to the Government website and make the application yourself. Most cost-effective method but can be daunting. You may not know how to answer some of the questions.
Option 2: Instruct solicitors to make the application for you. Most expensive option. Each of you will need their own solicitor and their fees will be very high.
Option 3: Use our service to assist you to make the application yourself. You get the best of both worlds: it is cost effective because you are making the application yourself but you have professional input to ensure you don't make mistakes.
